Nickname(s): Reetz

I’m an expert in: Adventures! My closest friends are always check in to see what I’m cooking up and whether they’re game to jump in.

Where it all began (How yoga came into your life?): Being a young athlete by the time I hit my late teens I was burdened with more than a few injuries; some minor some quite debilitating. My mom an avid yogi at the time thought of me in class when her yoga teacher highlighted the benefits of yoga on an injured body and I give it a try. Although I humoured her request to join her class, I actually found it “boring” at the time, there was a definite and clear lack of adrenaline going on in there (LOL) but I wasn’t blind to the potential benefits and continued to pursue it casually taking classes here and there. Skip forward a couple a years later, I started to hear a lot of buzz around hot yoga specifically; the benefits, the challenge, the heat , oh my! Now this sounded like something I can buy into! I went to one class and I was HOOKED! 15 years later (10 years of hot yoga) I just had to go to training and soak in everything I could about it! I’m so grateful to have it in my life. Like the memes say “Happy? Go to yoga. Sad? go to yoga. Mad…”you get the gist 😉

Favorite Food: I can eat sushi and watermelon every single day (not together) for the rest of my life and be happy!

Where can you find me when I’m not in the hot room: If I’m not traveling I’m exploring, discovering, creating; exploring the magnificent outdoors, discovering new recipes, creating new furniture/art/fuzzy balls (you’ll have to ask me about that one!)

What can you expect in my class: Well-being fairly new, I’m still working on my “yoga teacher identity” but two things I like to focus on: 1. Levelled hips (so important), 2. Finding stillness because it really is a magical and powerful thing to master. As for prenatal yoga, expect a plethora of modifications that’ll make you feel oh so good, lots of block and strap work and maybe even some essential oil loveliness!

Trainings completed: Moksha Yoga July 2016, Moksha Yoga Prenatal June 2017, Certificate in Sports Nutrition May 2016
