Name: Jody Miller
Nickname(s): Jod or Jodes
I’m an expert in: Looking for the next adventure, always wanting to learn and grow and looking for lost socks.
Where it all began (How yoga came into your life?): I really began practicing yoga a few years ago when going through some of life’s challenges. I had tried it before as an alternative or as a complement to some other sports that I was involved in. It was so challenging but yet the benefits were just undeniable. The more I allowed myself to lean into yoga the more I felt the benefits. Especially when I was stressed. The focus and mental clarity I gained helped so much, let alone what I was experiencing physically! This yoga thing helped me so much I just couldn’t … not take the Moksha training!
Favorite food: Any form of delicious live raw food. Fresh juices, smoothies and abundant salads with vibrant color and green stuff!!
Where can you find me when I’m not in the hot room: I like trips to the mountains and in nature. Skiing and mountain biking in Jasper or Banff is awesome for me. At home, it’s a veggie garden in the growing season. I also like to chase a couple of my favorite people around too, whether it’s on the bike or throwing the frisbee with them in the park!
What you can expect in my class: An engaging practice with mindfulness towards this connection of mind, body, and spirit that we are in. I would be pumped to see you dive in deep towards your centered place and then walk away smiling.
Trainings completed: Moksha training in Victoria 2011, Moksha level 2 training in Costa Rica, Yin training with Joe Barnett and Moksha Flow training with the amazing Angela Zawada, Sattva Training 2015.
Favorite quote: I have lots! Here are two … “What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, are tiny compared to what lies inside of you.” – Emerson. “When you have nothing to hide, you hide nothing.”
